The Christmas Season TO-DO List

First off, the more and more I start writing or thinking about the Holidays I am full of smiles!

Who else sometimes feels that they are just OVER THE TOP with the holidays? Secondly, I am

currently listening to Pandora's "Holly Jolly Christmas Radio" at work, yes, I am writing this blog at

work how dare me! (Took that top picture at work too! Love the hands free timer!)  Lastly, I am a

huge list writer. It may be as simple as the To-Do's for the day, packing or groceries. I wanted to share

my 2018 Holiday Season To-Do List. I hope you all try at least one of these!

  1. Egg nog Cocktail (over the age of 21 of course). This is my first holiday season that I can legally drink a southern comfort egg nog cocktail!
  2. Write a letter to Santa; ALWAYS a kid at heart and who cares where it ends up!
  3. Winter Olympics; Take time to give a winter sport a try. That being ice skating, skiing, snowboarding, toboggan racing or even just sledding.
  4. Tacky Christmas sweaters; I have worn an "ugly Christmas sweater" the past two days too work and I have loved every second of it. You don't have to spend too much money on them at all. Walmart has some awesome ones! Get your stash for next year after Christmas!! (shopping hack #1)
Had to buy this because I work at an Animal Feed Store!
  5. Christmas play list; Don't be the Scrooge at work and fill the office with cheer! Pandora and Apple Music have some awesome playlists. My go to is the Justin Bieber, "Under the Mistletoe" album! Michael Bublé, "Christmas" for the second!
  6. Polar Express Train Ride; I recently this year saw this "new" train ride into Chicago; with the theme of the movie, Polar Express. Would have LOVED to give this a caboose a try!
  7. Have a Crush?; Catch your loved ones off guard with hanging some mistletoe in the house! Either to make the kids give you a goodbye hug and kiss, or even your special someone!
  8. Attend a craft show; You can find some wonderful Christmas gifts for others at craft shows. (I am pretty sure my mom went to five this winter....wonder were I get my shopping problem from.) Growing up, we always had a school craft show were we could make our own ornaments and presents to give our parents. My favorite was to make my own tree ornaments, they were glass balls with multicolored paint in them.
  9. CHRISTMAS COOKIES!!!; This is the EASIEST thing on this list. So do it! My first favorite is Ritz Crackers with peanut butter in the middle dipped in chocolate almond bark! There is peanut butter in it so that makes them healthy right?! My second favorite holiday treat is not a cookie but are grapes, dipped in white chocolate almond bark rolled in chopped up nuts. Side thought: how do you track these?
  10. CHRISTMAS MOVIES!!; I lied.. THIS is the EASIEST thing on the list, so it is a must. The list goes on and on with endless Hallmark movies, as we all know. My movie list for the weekend includes; Christmas with the Kranks, The Grinch, Home Alone and Christmas Vacation. Ready to curl up on the couch with some good hot chocolate and a blanket.

Try going to a Christmas play!

Wow ten things to-do before Christmas? Think you can tackle some? Many of us have traditions

that our families do and I am sure some of these are included in those. I look forward to all of the

holiday posts next week full of excitement and happiness. The joy that is brought to children's faces

the day of Christmas, getting spoiled by their family members is awesome to watch. My family is

hosting Christmas this year (thank gosh I don't have to drag the presents far) which I am happy to

participate in more this year. I look forward to attending our Church's Christmas Eve service to

celebrate the birth of Jesus. Then go to the after party, with the best ham and cream cheese wrapped

pickles in the whole wide world!

Giving much thanks this year for all that I have been blessed with and able to conquer. I hope all of

you do as well!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!

XOXO - Katie
